Southern Regional Wheelchair Basketball Tournament Coming To Greensboro in February

Bridge II Sports will host the Youth Southern Regional Wheelchair Basketball Tournament

Greensboro, NC – Bridge II Sports will host the Youth Southern Regional Wheelchair Basketball Tournament the weekend of February 13-14, 2016 at the Greensboro Coliseum Pavilion. There will be 200 youth with physical disabilities (15 teams) competing from North Carolina, Georgia, Tennessee, Alabama, Virginia, Mississippi, and Illinois.

Leading up to the tournament games, the Triad Trackers will play their last home game on Saturday, February 6, 1pm at the Gateway YWCA (1300 S. Main Street, Winston-Salem, NC 27127). The Triad Trackers is our area’s adult wheelchair basketball team located in Winston-Salem, NC. The Trackers were founded in the 1980s, and have experienced success in the Carolina Wheelchair Basketball Conference.

Greensboro Parks and Recreation and Bridge II Sports will host an Adapted Sports and Fitness Expo on Sunday, February 7, 1-4pm at Simkins Sports Pavilion (1900 Dans Road, Greensboro, 27401). Activities or stations will include adapted sports and fitness opportunities with wheelchair basketball, boccia ball, fitness stations and a chance to play in a game of basketball with some of the Triad Trackers athletes! Stations will be open from 1-3pm and the scrimmage will begin at 3pm. If you are just curious to see or want to play, this is a great opportunity to experience a new sport!
