Elon Concludes Competition at Camel City Invitational Track & Field

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – The Elon University women’s track and field team ended its run at the Camel City Invitational inside the JDL Fast Track Complex on Saturday, Jan. 30.

RESULTS

The Phoenix’s 4×400-meter relay team of Lydia Laws, Desiree Ross, Lauren Brzozowski and Jen Esposito turned in a great performance in the race with the quartet clocking in 3:53.59 for a third-place finish. It is a new indoor-best time for the group.

Sydney Griffin nearly set a new personal-best mark in the 200-meter dash with her time of 25.06. She would finish sixth overall in the race. Fellow senior Simone Jackson clocked a 25.97 in the event.

Carrie Abraham garnered a fifth-place standing in the triple jump with her mark of 39’ 1” (11.91m). Majayla Holland was Elon’s top finisher in the shot put with a toss of 39’ 3.25” (11.97m).

The Phoenix will take a break before retuning to the track on Feb. 12-13, at the Spire Institute Division I Challenge in Geneva, Ohio.
