Powerade State Games High School Baseball Coaches Announced
Registration is open and tryouts are scheduled to begin

DURHAM, North Carolina, February 18, 2016 – The Powerade State Games High School Baseball Showcase will take place June 15-19 at the USA Baseball Complex in Cary. The High School Baseball Showcase pits the best 20 underclassmen players from eight North Carolina regions against each other to battle it out in front of over 80 college and professional scouts for the gold, silver and bronze medals.

The coaches have been selected for each regional team and are listed below with their high school in parentheses and the head coach listed first:
Region 1 – Corey Skinner (Ayden-Grifton), Greg Clifton (Faith Christian), Ryan Meadows (N. Pitt), Justin Hill (Currituck)
Region 2 – Donell Garris (North Lenoir), Robby Lasater (W. Carteret), Jackson Massey (S. Wayne), TJ Spivey (W. Brunswick)
Region 3 – Pete Tuck (Roxboro Community), Guy Civitello (Leesville Road), Joey Worley (W. Johnston), Mike Carroll (JF Webb)
Region 4 – Christopher Dague (Jack Britt), Joey Miriello (Triton), Kelly Chavis (St. Pauls), Chad Hill (Scotland County)
Region 5 – Doug Welch (RJ Reynolds), Mike Meadows (N. Davidson), Landon Kimrey (N. Guilford), Jake Smith (Randleman)
Region 6 – David Houseton (Covenant Day), Clinton Koppe (E. Mecklenburg), Allan Chapman (W. Lincoln), Philip Russ (Bessemer City)
Region 7 – Terry Johnson (Wilkes Central), Nick Tomlin (Elkin), Jack Moss (Forbush), Jeff Peck (Statesville)
Region 8 – Ronald Tipton (Madison), Tony Wall (Chase), Bill Hillier (Asheville), Brandon Ball (W. Henderson)

The Powerade State Games of North Carolina is gearing up for an exciting year of competition in the Triangle. The 30th annual Powerade State Games begin on June 4th and conclude on June 26th, hosting competitions in Raleigh, Cary and Durham. Registration is now open for all sports. The 2016 Opening Ceremonies will be held June 17th at WRAL Soccer Complex in Raleigh. The Opening Ceremonies feature a commemorative gift for participating athletes, inflatables, games, music, a parade of athletes and a lighting of the cauldron to announce the official start to the 2016 Powerade State Games of North Carolina.

  1. Great group of coaches! No reason why region 5 can’t repeat again as champions! The addition of Jake Smith is good.
