Ciani ‘CeCe’ Byrom(New Hope Christian Academy) takes MEAC honors and freshman is becoming a force and earning her stripes

Ciani Byrom played for Delaney Rudd at New Hope Christian Academy and now she has really adjusted to the college basketball style and is leading her team at UMES to some very good basketball days here in 2016….

NORFOLK, Va. & PRINCESS ANNE, Md. – After guiding her squad to a homecoming victory over South Carolina State, the University of Maryland Eastern Shore (UMES) Women’s Basketball Team witnessed freshman guard Ciani Byrom (Winston-Salem, N.C.) collect two player of the week honors from the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) and College Sports Madness (CSM). Both were announced early Monday morning.

Over the previous two games, Byrom averaged 22 points-per-game (PPG) while shooting 50-percent (13-of-26) from the floor and 82-percent (14-of-17) from the charity stripe. In the road win over Howard, she recorded career-highs in points (27) and assists (6).
