After back-to-back wins, the Panthers (10-16, 9-8) fell to Liberty on Tuesday night and will look to rebound against the Bucs (13-14, 8-10).
Last Time Out
The Purple & White continued their solid shooting and played stellar second-half defense, but couldn’t overcome Liberty’s size falling 73-68 on Tuesday night. HPU hit eight three-pointers and held the Flames to a dismal 37 percent shooting effort after the break, but was outscored 34-14 in the paint in the setback.
Junior Kaylah Keys paced the Panthers with a game-high 20 points while sophomore Kay Harris hit five triples to post 15 points on the night. The third Panther in double figures, freshman Emma Bockrath, produced a dozen points on the night.
Keying the Offense
• Junior Kaylah Keys is leading the league in scoring this season (15.1 ppg) and is the league’s active leader with 1,413 career points.
• Keys has scored 20 or more points in four of the last six games and is averaging 19.5 points 2.6 assists and is 19-35 (.543) from beyond the arc and 20-20 from the line in the stretch.
Bockrath’s Case
• Freshman Emma Bockrath has been stuffing the stat sheet on a nightly basis this season. The wing is second among league freshman in scoring (9.4/g) and first in steals (1.4/g) and assists (2.6/g) and fifth in rebounding (4.2/g).
• Along with Haleigh Hatfield, Bockrath is one of four freshmen to win the league’s freshman of the year award at least twice this season.

The Panthers lead the Big South in free throw percentage at .741. Shea Morgan, Kat Harris, Haleigh Hatfield and Kaylah Keys are all shooting over .790.
Scouting Charleston Southern
• The Bucs snapped a three-game losing streak with an upset victory over Gardner-Webb on Feb. 20. The squad made it two in a row with a convincing 60-45 triumph at Campbell on Tuesday.
• Saturday’s contest is big for seeding in the conference tournament. With a win, CSU can pull within a half game of HPU and the sixth seed while taking the tiebreaker. On the other hand, the Panthers can continue its change for the final bye as they sit 1.5 games behind Radford.
• After suffering an injury in the first meeting between the two teams, senior Alyssa Mann is back in action and fourth in the league in scoring (13.6 points per game).
• Mann is the only player averaging in double figures, but five other players tallying between 5.3 and 7.9 points per contest.

The Panthers hold a 24-13 edge in the series with 4-2 mark under DeUnna Hendrix.
Last Time They Met
HPU erased an 11-point first-quarter deficit to build a 10-point edge with eight minutes to play. However, CSU closed the night on a 20-8 run to earn the win despite 24 points from Keys.
