Millbrook advances to their fourth 4A Girls State Championship in the last six seasons. Between 2011-2013, the Wildcats reached three consecutive championship games, winning it all in 2012, and 2013. They carry a 29-2 record into the Dean E. Smith Center after a 58-51 victory over Hillside in
the regional final, halting the Hornets 27-game winning streak. Dazia Powell and Jaleesa Dillard led a balanced Wildcat attack with ten points each in the regional final win. Coach East and the Wildcats identified last year’s loss in the second round as the driving force behind this year’s Wildcat squad. The team blasted their way through the Cap 8 Conference, a perfect 14-0 on the year winning the regular season and the Conference Tournament.

Four starters named to the All-Conference team are the backbone of the Wildcat team, as they pushed their way past their Wake County rival, Southeast Raleigh in the fourth round 51-47.
*****Millbrook has not lost a game this season to a team from the state of North Carolina….The two losses were to St. Francis(54-40), Georgia and to Lower Richland, South Carolina(43-40)….

Coach East and Millbrook won back-to-back State Championships in 2012 and 2013 with another powerful squad that included Ryan Flowers and the Day twins, Bria and Briana.

*****On the Guilford County State Championship teams for girls we had Southwest Guilford, Page and Grimsley get there on the 4-A level, Dudley did it as a 3-A team and High Point Andrews goes long at the 2-A level……*****Seven teams total and Guilford County has talent, there is no doubt about that….*****
