Baseball (9-11, 1-2)

Elon vs. High Point, Tuesday, March 22, at 6 p.m., Latham Park

Elon at UNC Wilmington, Friday – Sunday, March 25 – 27, at 6/2/2 p.m., Wilmington, N.C.

• In Saturday’s victory over William & Mary, Elon stole six bases. It marked the first time that the Phoenix stole six bases in a game since doing so in the first game of a doubleheader against The Citadel on March 30, 2014.

• In the win over the Tribe, the maroon and gold hit three home runs. One came off the bat of junior Nick Zammarelli. The others were from junior CJ Young and freshman Liam O’Regan. For Young and O’Regan, the homers marked the first of their Elon careers.

• The Phoenix will play four games this week beginning with a Tuesday evening date against High Point at Latham Park and continuing this week with a CAA set at UNCW. Elon has played more games against High Point than any other opponent as the two have met 207 times before. Elon is 124-83 in those contests.

Men’s Golf

Seahawk Intercollegiate, Sunday – Tuesday, March 20 – 21, Wilmington, N.C.

• After a shorten first day due to rain, Elon stands in sixth place at a six over-par 295 at the Seahawk Intercollegiate.

• The tournament was originally scheduled to be a 54-hole tournament. After rain shortened the first day of competition to 18 holes, the Seahawk Intercollegiate has been reduced to a 36-hole tournament.

• Elon concludes the Seahawk Intercollegiate with the final round today at the Country Club of Landfall.

Men’s Tennis (11-4)

Elon at Coastal Carolina, Tuesday, March 22, 1:30 p.m., Conway, S.C.

• Last week, Elon finished 3-0 overall with victories over Navy, Davidson and James Madison.

• Robert Lindgren went a perfect 3-0 in singles play and has won five straight singles matches. Lindgren currently leads the team with 10 singles victories.

• The Phoenix carries a four-match winning streak into its lone match this week on Tuesday at Coastal Carolina.

Softball (14-12)

Elon at Campbell, Tuesday, March 22, at 4:30 p.m., Buies Creek, N.C.

Elon at UNCG, Wednesday, March 23, at 5:30 p.m., Greensboro, N.C.

Elon vs. Drexel, Saturday-Sunday, March 26-27, at 1/3/1 p.m., Hunt Softball Park

• The Phoenix will play in five games this week with a pair of in-state early-week contests at Campbell and UNCG before opening Colonial Athletic Association play this weekend as the Phoenix hosts Drexel for the first time at Hunt Softball Park.

• Junior Emily Roper and freshman Abby Barker were named the CAA Player and Co-Rookie of the Week, respectively, last week. Roper earned the award after the Cincinnati, Ohio, native batted a team-best .636 while also scoring and driving in six runs. Barker earned her first career weekly accolade after the rookie tossed the program’s first-ever perfect game in Elon’s 8-0 win over Niagara on March 11.

• Elon went 2-1 last week while picking up victories against Charlotte and George Washington. The win over the 49ers was the Phoenix’s first since the 2013 season.

Women’s Golf

MSU Spring Citrus Challenge, Sunday – Tuesday, March 20 – 22, Sorrento, Fla.

• Elon finds itself in a four-way tie for second and has two individuals in the top-five after the first round of the MSU Citrus Challenge.

• Heather Munro finished the first round at 2-under (70) and is in a three-way tie for second individually. She trails the leader Valentina Giraldo (-7) of Jacksonville by five strokes. Kelsey Badmaev also is in the top-five individually as her even-par (72) round is in a tie for fifth.

• The Phoenix continues with the second round today, followed by the final round of the MSU Citrus Challenge on Tuesday at the RedTail Gold Club.

Women’s Lacrosse (6-3)

Elon at High Point, Tuesday, March 22, at 7 p.m., High Point, N.C.

• After falling to No. 4 North Carolina Tuesday, the Phoenix rebounded with a 12-6 win at Davidson Saturday to improve to 6-3 on the season.

• Sloane Kessler matched her career high of seven points, two shy of a program record, against the Wildcats after four goals and three assists.

• Elon makes the short trek to High Point for its next game on Tuesday in High Point, N.C., at Vert Stadium. The all-time series between the Phoenix and the Panthers is tied, one-all.

Women’s Tennis (6-9)

Elon at College of Charleston, Monday, March 21, 2 p.m., Charleston, S.C.

• The Phoenix battled for a 5-2 victory over Charlotte on Friday last week, which included clinching the doubles point.

• Erica Braschi continues to be on a roll this season and leads the team with nine singles wins and has won five straight singles matches.

• Elon will play one match this week when it meets the College of Charleston for the 18th time during the program’s Division I era.

Women’s Track and Field

Elon at Raleigh Relays, Friday – Saturday, March 25 – 26, Raleigh, N.C.

• The Phoenix travels to NC State for the prestigious Raleigh Relays this weekend for its second outdoor meet of the season.

• Elon opened outdoor competition at the Shamrock Invitational at Myrtle Beach, S.C., last weekend. Elon had three event wins at the meet with Ellie Bennett (pole vault), Carolyn Hopkins (3,000-meter steeplechase) and Sydney Griffin (100-meter hurdles) taking medalist honors.

• Bennett’s mark in the pole vault is now the third-best outdoor performance in school history. The rookie cleared the bar at a height of 10’ 6” (3.20m). Fellow freshman Nicole Karabas also cleared the bar at the same height, but needed more attempts to do so.
