Elon Men’s Golf Phoenix Finishes Tied for Seventh at Seahawk Intercollegiate

WILMINGTON, N.C. – Charlie May finished with a team-best 36-hole total of one-under par en route to place tied for 10th individually and the Elon University men’s golf team finished tied for seventh at the Seahawk Intercollegiate today, March 21, at the Country Club of Landfall.

The Phoenix carded a two round total of 596 (+20) in a shortened tournament due to rain on Sunday. Elon finished the first day with a 295 and walked off the course with a 301 second round score on Monday.

No. 20 Duke captured the team title by seven strokes and the Blue Devil’s Matt Oshrine won the individual title with a two round total of 137 (-7).

HIGHLIGHTS
May was solid all week competing as an individual, carding rounds of 71 and 72 to finish with an event total of 143 (-1), six strokes off the lead. Jonathan DiIanni had the second-best score for the Phoenix finishing tied for 27th at 147 (+3).

Jake Leavitt came back to the club house with a two round total of 149 (+5) and Philip Loeb carded a 151 (+7) for the tournament.

Troy Beaver carded two rounds of 76, finishing tied for 47th at 152 (+8) and Jared Mactas finished with a 154 (+10) 36-hole total.
