Baseball (9-14, 1-4)

Elon Baseball Live Radio Show, Monday, March 28, at 7 p.m., Mellow Mushroom

Elon vs. Wake Forest, Tuesday, March 29, at 6 p.m., Latham Park

Elon vs. College of Charleston, Friday – Sunday, April 1 – 3, at 6:30/4/1:30 p.m., Latham Park

• The Elon Baseball Live Radio Show returns on Monday night. The show will air live four times this spring from 7 – 8 p.m. at the Mellow Mushroom on Huffman Mill Road in Burlington. The show can also be heard live on WSML 104.5 FM and 1200 AM and at elonphoenix.com.

• Freshman Mason Daniels has struck out a team-high 35 hitters this year. In just five starts, those 35 strikeouts rank as the ninth-most by an Elon freshman at the NCAA Division I level.

• Elon will play four games at Latham Park this week, beginning with a 6 p.m. contest against Wake Forest on Tuesday. The Phoenix will then host CAA rival College of Charleston for a weekend series.

Men’s Golf

Clemson Invitational, Friday – Sunday, April 1 – 3, Sunset, S.C.

• After a shortened tournament of 36-holes, the Phoenix took a seventh place finish at the Seahawk Intercollegiate last week. Elon has earned a top-10 finish as a team in all six of its tournaments this season.

• Charlie May led all Phoenix individuals, with a 10th place finish and a two-round total of 143 (-1) for the tournament.

• Elon returns to action this weekend against a very competitive field at the Clemson Invitational in Cliffs-Keowee Falls Golf Course.

Men’s Tennis (12-4)

Elon vs. UNCG, Tuesday, March 29, 6 p.m., Jimmy Powell Tennis Center

Elon vs. College of Charleston, Friday, April 1, 3 p.m., Jimmy Powell Tennis Center

• Elon took down Coastal Carolina 5-2 on March 22, in its only match last week. The Phoenix has won five straight matches and handed the Chanticleers its first loss at home since April 2014.

• Before the Coastal Carolina match, freshman Felipe Sarrasague earned his first-career CAA Player of the Week honor for a perfect 2-0 week of action against Davidson (March 15) and James Madison (March 18).

• The Phoenix returns to the Jimmy Powell Tennis Center for a five-match homestand, which begins on Tuesday night at 6 p.m. against local rival UNCG. It will be the first time under head coach Michael Leonard’s tenure that Elon has hosted a night match outdoors at JPTC.

Softball (17-14, 3-0)

Elon vs. College of Charleston, Saturday – Sunday, April 2 – 3, at 1/3/1 p.m., Hunt Softball Park

• The Phoenix hosts its second Colonial Athletic Association series this weekend as College of Charleston makes its way to Hunt Softball Park for a three-game bout on April 2 – 3.

• Elon swept Drexel to open CAA play last weekend with a 3-0 record at home. It was the second straight year that the Phoenix swept the Dragons with Elon being one of two teams in the league to start conference play with a sweep in 2016.

• Junior Alaina Hall and sophomore Kara Shutt are tied for the team and CAA-lead with four triples on the year. As a team, Elon leads the CAA with 12 total triples and is 12th in the nation in triples per game (0.36) in the latest NCAA statistics report.

Women’s Golf

John Kirk Panther Intercollegiate, Sunday – Tuesday, March 27 – 29, Stockbridge, Ga.

Mimosa Hills Intercollegiate, Sunday – Tuesday, April 3 – 4, Morganton, N.C.

• The Phoenix is tied for the lead after the first round at the John Kirk Panther Intercollegiate. Both Emily Brooks and Kelsey Badmeav lead individually after 18-holes. The tournament continues with the second round today followed by the final round on Tuesday.

• Elon earned its first tournament championship of the season last week after earning a share of title at the MSU Citrus Challenge. Badmeav took the individual crown for her second-career first place finish.

• After her performance at the MSU Citrus Challenge, Badmaev earned CAA Golfer of the Week honors for the third time in her career.

Women’s Lacrosse (7-3)

Not in competition this week

• Elon closed out non-conference play on Tuesday with a 12-8 win at High Point to claim its second straight victory.

• Sloane Kessler led the Phoenix with six points in the game after three goals and three assists along with four ground balls. Shelby Scanlin also tallied three scores, all assisted by Kessler, and had a game-high five draw controls.

• The maroon and gold returns to the field on Friday, April 8, to begin Colonial Athletic Association play against Delaware at Rudd Field.

Women’s Tennis (7-9)

Elon vs. Delaware, Thursday, March 31, 2 p.m., Jimmy Powell Tennis Center

Elon at James Madison, Saturday, April 2, 11 a.m., Harrisonburg, Va.

Elon vs. Towson, Sunday, April 3, 8:30 a.m., Harrisonburg, Va.

• The Phoenix came back from a 3-0 deficit to defeat the College of Charleston 4-3 on Monday, March 21. Erica Braschi battled back from a 5-4 deficit in her third set to win 7-5 and clinch the win for the Phoenix.

• Braschi continues to be on a roll this season and leads the team with 10 singles wins and has won six straight singles matches. She earned CAA Player of the Week honors last week for her efforts against College of Charleston (March 21) and Charlotte (March 18).

• Elon returns to action with three matches starting on Thursday, March 31, with a matchup against Delaware at 2 p.m. The Phoenix then heads to Harrisonburg, Va., for a road match against JMU and a neutral site match against Towson.

Women’s Track and Field

Elon at VertKlasse Meeting, Friday – Saturday, April 1 – 2, High Point, N.C.

• The Phoenix competed last weekend at the prestigious Raleigh Relays hosted by NC State. Junior Carrie Abraham set a new personal-record in the long jump with her leap of 18’ 8.75” (5.71m).

• Senior Jen Esposito won the 400-meter hurdles at the Raleigh Relays with her time of 58.01. Esposito’s time was the only performance in the race under the one-minute mark as the Mansfield, Mass., native beat out competitors from Duke and Nike.

• Sydney Griffin broke the school-record in the 100-meter dash as the Marietta, Ga., native ran a time of 11.98 in the preliminary round. Griffin now holds the outdoor school marks in both the 100 and 200-meter races and the 100-meter hurdles.
