Elon’s Badmaev Earns Second CAA Women’s Golfer of the Week Honor

RICHMOND, Va. – Elon University women’s golf junior Kelsey Badmaev earned her second consecutive Colonial Athletic Association Women’s Golfer of the Week honor today, March 30, as announced by the league office.

The native of Blythewood, S.C. earned her second CAA weekly honor of the season and the fourth of her career after her performance at the John Kirk Panther Intercollegiate at Eagle’s Landing Country Club.

Badmaev shot a five-under par capturing the individual title and helping Elon claim a team title for the second consecutive week. She won by two strokes, outlasting Martina Edberg of CSU Fullerton, who is ranked No. 91 on Golfstat and No. 93 by Golfweek.

The junior fired a 71 in the opening round, followed by a 72 in the second round. She ended the tournament by shooting a round-low 68. Her 54-hole score of 211 tied her lowest three-round total of her career.
