The Series
Last season saw the first meetings between the Phoenix and Pride. Hofstra won two of the three games in Hempstead, N.Y., last May.

About Hofstra
Hofstra visits Latham Park riding a five-game winning streak, including a three-game CAA sweep of College of Charleston last weekend. The Pride (13-24, 4-7 CAA) is hitting .259 as a team with 69 doubles and 32 home runs. In 37 games, Hofstra has scored 203 runs. The pitching staff enters with an ERA of 5.49 and has 269 strikeouts in 321.1 innings of work. Opponents are hitting .283 off of Hofstra pitching.

Picked Off
Through 38 games, Elon has picked off 14 base runners, surpassing last year’s total of seven, which included two by a catcher. Lefty Jordan Barrett leads the way with five while Nick Beaulac, Ryan Conroy, Mason Daniels, Matt Harris, Dimitri Lettas, Derek Pike and Robbie Welhaf each have one, while catcher Austin Leeney has two.

O’Regan Power Surge
Liam O’Regan hit his seventh home run of the year in Elon’s game at High Point. That blast tied him with James Venuto for the program’s Division I freshman record. Venuto hit seven homers in 2015. O’Regan then set a new mark the next night by homering in a win over UNCG.

O’Regan has hit a home run in four consecutive games. He is the first Elon player to do so since Cory Harrilchak in 2008 (May 13-24).

100th RBI
Nick Zammarelli drove in two runs in Elon’s loss at High Point. Those two pushed him passed 100 RBI for his career. The junior currently has 106 career RBI.

On Deck
Elon will wrap up a five-game homestand by welcoming North Carolina Central to Latham Park for a 6:30 p.m. game on Tuesday, April 26.
