Last Time Out

Elon took home the team title at the Campbell Invitational last weekend as the Phoenix scored 127 points at the meet and edged out other notable programs such as Wake Forest (83) and host Campbell (76). Elyse Bierut set a new school-record in the 3,000-meter run with her time of 9:54.75 to win the race. Shelby Cuddeback was second in the event with her time of 10:02.28 – a new personal-best and second-fastest time in school history behind Bierut’s performance.

Sophomore Bryanna Hames won two titles at the meet as the Charlotte, N.C., native captured the shot put and the discus title. Hames had a toss of 157′ 2″ (47.91m) in the discus and won the shot put with a 42’ 11” (13.08m) mark.

Esposito also took individualist honors in the 400-meter hurdles with her time of 58.16 while Ross won the 400-meter dash with a 56.23.

Ellie Bennett set her personal-best in the pole vault after clearing the bar at 11′ 0.25″ (3.36m) and was fourth overall. That performance moves her to third all-time on the program’s all-time outdoor list.
