42nd Elon Athletics Annual Athletic Banquet
Monday, May 2, at 7 p.m., Alumni Gym

• For the 42nd year, Elon will announce and hand out its yearly honors at its annual Athletics Banquet on Monday evening in Alumni Gym.
• All 17 teams will announce its MVP for the past season, while the Basnight Male and Female Athletes of the Year, Browne Sportsmanship Award and A.L. Hook Scholar-Athlete awards will also be presented.
• Fans can watch the banquet live on Phoenix All-Access with the program schedule to begin around 7 p.m.

Baseball (24-25, 13-10)
Elon vs. Campbell, Tuesday, May 10, at 6:30 p.m., Latham Park

• Elon concluded CAA play with a 13-10 record. Last year’s team ended conference play at 13-11.
• Senior Tyler McVicar had a huge day against Delaware on Sunday. McVicar went 3-for-3 with a double and two home runs and drove in seven runs. It marked the third multi-homer game of his career and second this season. The seven RBI also equaled a personal-best. He has reached base safely in 21 consecutive games.
• The Phoenix will play just one more game before breaking for exams. Elon will host Campbell in a Tuesday evening contest. It will mark the lone matchup between the two programs this season.

Softball (26-23, 9-8)
CAA Softball Championships
No. 4 Elon vs. No. 5 Delaware, Tuesday, May 10, at 3 p.m., Harrisonburg, Va.

• The Phoenix will compete at the 2016 Colonial Athletic Association Softball Championship Tournament for the second straight year, hosted by James Madison. Elon opens tournament play as the No. 4 seed against No. 5 seed Delaware on Tuesday.
• Elon qualified for postseason despite having its final league series at Delaware this past weekend cancelled due to rain and unplayable field conditions. It was the fourth CAA contest that was called off on the Phoenix’s schedule this season.
• With its 9-8 ledger during CAA play this season, the Phoenix posted its first consecutive winning seasons during conference play since the 2010 and 2011 seasons. This is also the first time Elon has posted back-to-back conference winning campaigns under head coach Kathy Bocock.

Women’s Lacrosse (10-7)
Season Complete

• Elon closed out its season in the CAA Women’s Lacrosse Championship last week, falling to Towson, 8-6, in the semifinals.
• Last week, six Phoenix players earned all-conference honors – Stephanie Asher, Rachel Ramirez, Sloane Kessler, Alexis Zadjura, Shannon Horan and Stephanie Thomson. Asher and Ramirez claimed spots on the All-CAA First Team followed by Kessler and Zadjura on the second team. Horan claimed all-rookie honors, while Thomson was selected to the all-academic squad.
• The Phoenix recorded its first winning and 10-win season in program history after only three competitive years.

Women’s Track and Field
Elon at Aggies Last Chance Meet, Sunday, May 15, Greensboro, N.C.

• Elon repeated as Colonial Athletic Association outdoor track and field champions after earning its second consecutive league title on Saturday, May 7, on its home track at the Jerry and Jeanne Robertson Track and Field Complex. The Phoenix scored a conference meet school-record 193 points – the most at the CAA Championships since 2005.
• Senior Sydney Griffin was named the league’s Most Outstanding Track Performer of the Meet after the Marietta, Ga., native took home two individual event titles in the 100-meter hurdles and the 200-meter dash. She also helped the maroon and gold win the 4×100-meter relay championship with the quartet of herself, Simone Jackson, Desiree Ross and Jen Esposito set a new school-record with a time of 45.91 in the race.
• Along with Griffin, Esposito (400-meter hurdles) Jayna Coyle (triple jump) and Emily Dixon (heptathlon) also earned league championships with Esposito and Dixon defending their titles in their respective events. Esposito, Ross, Lydia Laws and Lauren Brzozowski also helped the Phoenix’s 4×400-meter relay squad to the event title after clocking a school-record 3:43.32.
