Pat Dean makes MLB Debut with The Minnesota Twins

Minneapolis, Minn. – Former High Point-Thomasville HiToms pitcher Pat Dean made his Major League Baseball debut on Wednesday May 11 at Target Field for The Minnesota Twins. Dean is the eighth member of the HiToms CPL Franchise to make the big leagues.

The seven-year professional baseball veteran tossed 2 2/3 innings while surrendering two runs and struck out three batters out of the bullpen in the 9-2 loss against the Baltimore Orioles.

Dean played two seasons with the HiToms in 2008-09. In 2008, Dean helped HPT win its third straight Coastal Plain League Petitt Cup. Over his two seasons in High Point/Thomasville the lefthander kept a solid 3.34 ERA while striking out 69 hitters in 72 2/3 innings of work.

The Waterbury, CT native attended Boston College and was drafted in the third round of the 2010 MLB draft by Minnesota.
