Softball (26-25)

Season Complete

• The Phoenix concluded its season last Wednesday at the Colonial Athletic Association Softball Championships in Harrisonburg, Va., with a 3-2 setback against College of Charleston in 13 innings. That game was the longest game played in the history of the league championship tournament and the fifth contest of the season for the Phoenix that has gone into double-digit extra innings.

• Elon had five members of its squad receive All-CAA honors last Tuesday. Sophomore Kara Shutt was an All-CAA first team member, while senior pitcher Kayla Caruso earned second team all-league recognition. Erica Serafini and Elise Walton were placed on the CAA All-Rookie team, while Emily Roper represented the Phoenix on the league’s All-Academic team.

• Sophomore Kiandra Mitchum was selected as the lone Phoenix representative on the CAA All-Tournament team.

Women’s Track and Field

• Elon had select athletes compete this past weekend at the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Outdoor Track and Field Championships and the Aggie Last Chance Meet for a chance to qualify for the upcoming NCAA East Regionals.
