Elon Women’s Soccer Adds Bass and Mitchell for 2016 Season

ELON, N.C. – Elon University head women’s soccer coach Chris Neal announced the final additions of Bria Bass and Breanna Mitchell for the 2016 season today, May 26.

Bass is a graduate transfer from University of Maryland Baltimore County (UMBC). During her time at UMBC, Bass played in 36 matches and made 21 starts, including 16 last season as a defender. Breanna Mitchell is a freshman addition from Sterling, Virginia. She earned numerous All-Conference selections and led Dominion High School to a state title in 2014. Mitchell played club soccer for McLean ECNL.

“Bria and Breanna are two dynamic athletes,” said Neal. “Bria is an experienced and mobile defender with successful NCAA DI experience under her belt. Breanna has speed to burn and the reputation as a goal scorer. I’m very excited to add them to our squad.”

The Phoenix just completed a successful spring season and coach Neal believes the signing of Bria and Breanna are the final touches to the squad heading into the 2016 season. “We had a great spring season and I feel our team is in an excellent position heading into the 2016 season,” explained Neal. “I think Bria and Breanna are the final pieces to the puzzle for us.”
