AJGA Alters Haas Family Invitational Schedule due to Hot Forecast for Tournament Week

AJGA ALTERS HAAS FAMILY INVITATION SCHEDULE DUE TO HOT FORECAST FOR TOURNAMENT WEEK

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Due to the hot temperatures and thunderstorms forecast for the Piedmont Triad this coming week, the American Junior Golf Association (AJGA) has altered its schedule to avoid the hottest part of the day with the highest chance of thunderstorms, the tournament announced today. The Haas Family Invitational, a “major” on the AJGA tour, is set for Tuesday through Friday at Sedgefield Country Club.
With temperatures forecasted to be in the middle 90s this week and an increasing chance for thunderstorms in the latter part of the week, golfers competing in the Haas Family Invitational will now begin their rounds on split tees; half the field will start their rounds on the first tee with the other half starting on the 10th tee. Through this altered schedule, all golfers will be on the course by 9:45 each day meaning play will be complete by about 2:30 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday. Friday’s final round, with only the top-60 golfers and ties following the third round, should be complete by 2 p.m.

Updated Haas Family Invitational Schedule:
? Monday: Morning practice rounds (8 a.m.); BB&T Junior-Am Tournament at 1 p.m.
? Tuesday: First-round tee times 7:45 a.m. – 9:42 a.m. (two-tee start)
