The Burlington Royals of the Professional Appalachian League edged the Kernersville Bulldogs 5-3 in their preseason exhibition game in Burlington as they prepare for their Thursday season opener,
The Royals broke open a 3-3 tie game late taking advantage of a couple of misplayed balls.
Dawnoven Smith with two hits , Zach Michalski and Randy Norris with a hit and run scored paced the Bulldogs.
Kernersville returns to Carolina Virgina League action Thursday at Glenn High School against the Charlotte Crushers at 7PM.
