VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – The Greensboro College men’s soccer team topped the Marlins of Virginia Wesleyan Sunday, 2-1.

After going scoreless in the first half, the Marlins (0-1-1) struck first in the 58th minute.

Greensboro then evened the score in the 76th minute when Andrew Moebius found the back of the net for his first goal of the season.

After failing to capitalize on a couple of chances, Gerardo Peraza scored the game winning goal on a free kick from 20-yards out.

“I was really happy with the way that the guys battled today,” Head Coach Tony Falvino said. “Despite going down early in the second half, our team battled back and was able to come away with the victory.”

Carlos Barragan fired off a team-high five shots, while Obi Collins ripped two shots. Jamie Payamps (1-1) picked up the win in goal for Greensboro after stopping five shots.

The Pride men’s soccer team will return to action at 1:30 p.m. Saturday when they travel to take on the Maroons of Roanoke College. For more information on Greensboro College men’s soccer, continue to follow www.greensborocollegesports.com.
