Elon’s QB Christiansen to Miss Remainder of 2016 Football Season

ELON, N.C. – Elon University head football coach Rich Skrosky and starting quarterback Connor Christiansen announced today that the sophomore will miss the rest of the 2016 season due to injury.

Christiansen threw for 108 yards on 15 completions in the season opener against Gardner-Webb on Sept. 3.

Said Skrosky, “Unfortunately, Connor’s injury will force him to miss the remainder of the season. We are hopeful that he will be ready for spring practice.”

Christiansen added, “I want to thank everybody for the support. It is obviously difficult for me to miss the rest of the season and not be able to play with these guys. I will keep my head up and work hard in my recovery process and be the best teammate I can be from the sidelines.”

The Phoenix will return to action on Saturday, Sept. 10 with a 6 p.m. game at Charlotte.
