College Cross Country Results – Guilford Men and Women Each Place Seventh at Hagan-Stone XC Classic

PLEASANT GARDEN, N.C – Guilford College men’s and women’s cross country each placed seventh out of nine teams at Saturday morning’s Hagan-Stone Classic. The men finished with 183 points while the women scored 164.

Caleb Amstutz led the Quakers with an eight kilometer time of 28:38.24. The time was his best time of the year by 1:18. The finish also stands 88th all-time in Guilford history in the program’s top-100 times.

Colin Dossel (Winston-Salem, N.C./R.J. Reynolds) ran the second-fastest Guilford time at 30:20.63. The time represents a 1:35 improvement from his previous season-best.

Sommer Fanney (Burlington, N.C./Williams) led the women with a five-kilometer time of 21:39.20. The time is 27 seconds off of her season-best, set at the beginning of the year, but stands as a top-25 all-time finish in Guilford history standing in a tie for 22nd place.

Kate Jenkins-Sullivan finished with the second-best Guilford time with a finish of 21:52.90, which stands 29th all-time in school history. The time is also a season-best and a personal-best in her Guilford career.

Coach Danny Cash’s Quakers take a break from competition with the College’s fall break approaching, returning to action October 29th for the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Championship at Vista Links Golf Club in Lexington, Va., hosted by Washington and Lee University.
