KANSAS CITY, Mo. – For the ninth straight season, the Elon University men’s soccer team earned a Team Academic Award from the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) as released on Thursday, Oct. 6.
The Phoenix posted a team GPA of 3.0 or higher for the ninth consecutive season during the 2015-16 academic year and was one of 315 men’s soccer teams that were honored by the NSCAA. Elon was also one of six teams from the Colonial Athletic Association that were recognized.
“It’s an honor to receive this award for the ninth year in a row,” said Phoenix head coach Chris Little. “To be recognized for the ninth time is just a testament to the hard work of our players and their commitment to academic excellence. I also want to thank (academic coordinators) Cayce Crenshaw and Karen Neff for their hard-working efforts with our program and their continued success in developing student-athletes.”
