College Women’s Swimming Results – Guilford Takes Eighth at ODAC Relays

LEXINGTON, Va. – Guilford College’s women’s swimming team placed eighth among nine teams at Saturday’s Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Relays, hosted by Washington and Lee University.

The host Generals won the nine-team meet with 487 points, followed by Randolph-Macon College (269), Bridgewater College (219), Emory & Henry College (147), Hollins University (83), Ferrum College (50), Sweet Briar College (46), Guilford (44) and Greensboro College (37).

Guilford’s had five entries in the 10-event meet. Two teams posted eighth-place finishes, which accounted for 22 points towards the team score. Guilford’s 3×50 yard butterfly relay of Isabel Gutierrez, Ali Augustine and Carolyn O’Halloran touched in one minute, 34.58 seconds, good enough for eighth place among 12 teams. The Quakers’ 100 dolphin kick team of Gutierrez, Veronica O’Neill, Augustine and O’Halloran also placed eighth of 12 in a time of 1:13.20.

Gutierrez and O’Halloran both accounted for 12.25 points, which led the team.

Coach Ashley Cox’s Quakers are back in action October 22 at Hollins.
