BURLINGTON, N.C. – The Elon University men’s golf team is set to host the Elon Phoenix Invitational, Oct. 17-18, at the Alamance Country Club. The opening round begins on Monday morning at 8:30 a.m. with a shotgun start. The first day will be 36 holes of continuous play.
“We’re excited to get the chance to play at home this season, hosting the second annual Phoenix Invitational,” said head coach Don Hill. “It’s a great opportunity for us to get to play at our home golf course in front of friends and family. I expect our team to respond accordingly and compete at a very high level this week. The golf course is in great shape, the weather looks perfect, and we hope we can line the fairways with Elon golf fans.”
There are a total 17 schools competing in the tournament. In addition to Elon, the other schools competing as teams include Appalachian State, Delaware, Delaware, Gardner-Webb, High Point, Presbyterian, Radford, George Washington, George Mason, Loyola-Maryland, Western Carolina, East Carolina, Wofford and Drexel.
