Pride Women Fall To Hornets In Randolph-Macon Tip-off Classic Opener
ASHLAND, Va. – The Greensboro College women’s basketball team dropped its opening game of the 2016 Randolph-Macon Tip-off Classic to Lynchburg College Friday, 70-33.
The Hornets (2-0) jumped out to an early lead in the first period before the Pride (0-2) tied the game at eight, following a layup by Keyona Hicks.
Hicks then completed the old fashion three-point play, giving Greensboro its first lead of the game.
However, Lynchburg was able to establish a 16-13 lead at the end of the first period, before taking a 35-16 lead into halftime.
As the game progressed, the Hornets continued to add to their advantage before winning by the large margin.
Kyona Hicks had a team-high 11 points, while Chayana McGee added eight points. Courtney Pearsall and Gregory combined for eight points. Hicks also had a team-high six rebounds.
