RICHMOND, Va. – Jada Graves of the Elon University women’s basketball team was selected as the Colonial Athletic Association Rookie of the Week as announced by the league office on Monday, Nov. 21.
Graves helped the Phoenix to a 3-0 week with victories versus Rutgers at home and versus Eastern Washington and Central Michigan at the Preseason WNIT. The Alexandria, Va., native averaged 12.7 points per game off the bench and shot over 54 percent from the field (13-of-24) and nearly 64 percent from three-point land (7-for-11).
Graves scored a team-high 13 points versus Eastern Washington with four rebounds and a pair of steals in Elon’s 76-55 victory. She ended the week with a career-high 20 points while knocking down 4-of-5 from beyond the arc at Central Michigan as the Phoenix ended the Preseason WNIT with a 71-57 victory over the Chippewas.
Elon is back in action tomorrow, Nov. 22, hosting Bucknell at Alumni Gym. Tipoff from that game is scheduled for 7 p.m.
