ELON, N.C. – Every Monday, Phoenix fans can get a look at the week ahead with our “Elon Athletics Weekly Update” feature when we will preview all the week’s upcoming events for our sports teams.
Men’s Basketball (6-4)
Elon vs. Saint Peter’s, Sunday, Dec. 18, at 2 p.m., Jersey City, N.J.
• Elon dropped both of its contests last week versus UNC Asheville on Dec. 6 and at Radford on Dec. 10.
• Following exams this week, the Phoenix returns to action on Sunday afternoon for a first-ever meeting against the Peacocks of Saint Peter’s University.
• Elon will then return to North Carolina on Wednesday, Dec. 21, to host the Duke Blue Devils inside the Greensboro Coliseum. The game will tip off at 6 p.m. on ESPN2.
Women’s Basketball (4-4)
Elon at East Tennessee State, Saturday, Dec. 17, at 2 p.m., Johnson City, Tenn.
• Following a nine-day break for final exams, the Phoenix returns to action on Saturday, Dec. 17, at ETSU.
• Elon is coming off three hard-fought games against ACC opponents in Wake Forest, UNC and 21st-ranked Duke. The Phoenix has dropped all three games by a slim margin of seven points per contest.
• Ra’Shika White put together another solid performance in Elon’s last game at Duke on Dec. 8. The rookie went for a season-high 19 points on 8-of-15 shooting against the Blue Devils while also hauling down seven boards. In three games against ACC opponents, White is averaging 15.0 points and six rebounds per game.
