Southwest Guilford 88, Ragsdale 56P
The Cowboys hit the road for the second half of their two game “road trip” over to conference rival Ragsdale.
Southwest dominated the Patriots of Southern Alamance on the road last night and were looking to keep the ball rolling in their second conference game on the season. The Tigers came into tonight’s contest following a rough conference loss on the road to High Point Central. The Cowboys are looking to keep the winning tradition going as Southwest has won the last 10 match-ups and 12 of the last 13.
It didn’t take long for the Cowboys to get on the board as they scored the opening field goal, three-pointer just 12 seconds into the game. Ragsdale finally responded with they made free-throw at the 6:37 Mark making it 3–1. From there the game got a little choppy due to the clock issues as both teams struggled to find an offense of rhythm with several stoppages of play. With that being said, the Cowboys managed to go up 12–3 with 3:30 to play in the opening frame. Ragsdale wouldn’t let the Cowboys pull away completely, and utilized a 7-3 spurt to cut it to 16–10 at the 1:50 mark. Southwest close the opening frame with a 7-3 run of their own closing the opening frame at 23–13.
In the second quarter Southwest began to build the lead and slowly pull away as they forced turnovers and turn them into points and the halftime score was 47-24.
The third-quarter became a block party as the Cowboys utilized several strong blocks around the rim to control the momentum and pull further ahead as the quarter closed at 72–38.
The final quarter was ugly and sloppy as the clock wound down quickly on another strong Cowboy conference victory on the road at 88-56.
The Tigers were led by Nick Coleman, Trey Goode, and Aaron Clark with eight points apiece. And Southwest was led by Kobe Langley with (22, 5 Rebs, 3 Stls, 2 Asts), Keshaun Langley with (19, 5 Asts, 2 Stls, Reb), and Kameron Langley with (15, 7 Rebs, 7 Asts, 3 Stls).
The Cowboys improve to 13-2, and 2-0 in conference play, as the Tigers fall to 0-3 in the conference.
