Jamestown, NC – –

The Bobcats of Glenn High School come into tonight’s game looking to reverse its recent fortunes, having lost five consecutive games (three of which were within the Piedmont Triad 4A Conference). They were looking to put an end to their streak and begin to climb out of the bottom of the conference standings. For the home-standing Ragsdale Tigers, they come into tonight’s game having dropped three of their first four previous conference games. However, the Tigers did pick up their first conference win in their last game out, in overtime over East Forsyth.

In tonight’s game, the Tigers would take a commanding lead right off the jump, going up 18-1 to start the game. The Bobcats first points came from the free throw line with just under three minutes remaining in the 1st quarter. At the end of one period, Ragsdale lead 22-9.

Glenn would recover a bit at the start of the 2nd quarter to cut their deficit to 7 points, but Ragsdale, would then surge back ahead to lead 38-20 with 2:10 remaining in the half. Back and forth, this time it was the Bobcats going on an 8-0 run to finish the half, making it just a 10 point lead for the Tigers going into the break.

The 3rd quarter was sloppy on both ends of the floor for both teams. Ragsdale would take a 13 point lead into the final period. Early in the final quarter, the Bobcats forced a number of Tigers turnovers and turned them into a number of easy baskets. Glenn cut the Ragsdale to 7 points yet again, but the deficit was too large to overcome as Ragsdale would pull away with a big conference win at home by the final score of 66-49.

Ragsdale placed three players in double figure scoring on the night. Leading the way for the Tigers were Sophomores Brycen Thomas (16 points) and Tre Goode (12 points) and Freshman Devan Boykin (15 points). Chrishawn Lindsey led the Bobcats with a game-high 21 points on the evening.
