MAYODAN – McMichael senior Kodi Centry had a night to remember, and one for the record books to boot, in the Lady Phoenix’ 48-42 cross-county win over Reidsville on Wednesday January 24.

Centry broke McMichael’s all-time scoring record previously held by Melissa Johnson, who had 1,287 career points. Johnson, a three year varsity starter, graduated in 1993 and led her team to the Elite 8.

Centry set the new record – which currently stands at 1,292thanks to her 23 point performance versus the Lady Rams.

McMichael took the early 11-7 lead heading into the second quarter, but the Lady Rams kept it close, cutting the margin to 25-22 by halftime.

Centry carried the Lady Phoenix in the second quarter, scoring 10 of her 23 points on the night during the period.
