GOODYEAR, Ariz. – Jared Mactas posted his second consecutive round of 70 to lead the Elon University men’s golf team in the second round of the Loyola Intercollegiate at Palm Valley Golf Club. The Phoenix moved up one spot and is tied tied for fifth out of 16 teams with a team total of 569 (-7).
Elon nearly matched its first round total, shooting a three-under round of 285 on day two. The Phoenix made 21 birdies on the second day.
The Highlights
Mactas, continued his consistent play carding a second consecutive round total of two-under 70, and is currently tied for 10th individually with one more round to play. Mactas made four total birdies with two on each nine.
William Harwood remains in the top-25 individually following his second round of one-over par 73. He made two birdies on the front and back nine holes. The freshman is currently in a tie for 24th individually.
Philip Loeb bettered his first-round total, carding a 71 (-1) and closing out the round three with birdies on his final nine holes. He is tied for 38th overall after two rounds.
Charlie May was even par in the second round and tied a team-high with five birdies in the round. He is also currently tied for 38th. May had a great back nine holes as he made four birdies. An even-par second round of 72 has Jake Leavitt in a tie for 44th.
