GREENSBORO, N.C. – Guilford College’s basketball teams will gather on campus Monday to watch the announcement of the 2017 NCAA Division III Men’s and Women’s Basketball Tournament fields.

The teams will assemble with other Guilford community members in the Gilmer Room in Founders Hall. Founders Hall is the main student union building central to the campus. The Gilmer Room sits to the left as one enters the cafeteria. Media are invited to attend.

The men’s selection show begins at 12:30 p.m. The women’s basketball selection show starts at 2:30 p.m. Both shows will be streamed on line at: www.ncaa.com/liveschedule.

Guilford’s men’s basketball team earned the Old Dominion Athletic Conference’s (ODAC) automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament by virtue of its 65-54 victory over Emory & Henry College Sunday. The Quakers (23-5) are making their fifth NCAA Tournament appearance and their first since 2010.

The Quakers women’s basketball team earned the ODAC’s automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament with its 59-53 victory over Lynchburg College in Sunday’s ODAC Tournament final. Guilford returns to the NCAA tourney for the second straight season and the sixth time overall.

Both Guilford teams were ranked third in the most recent NCAA Division III South Region Rankings, which are used to determine the tournament fields and sites.

Sunday marked the 10th time in ODAC history one school has claimed both of the league’s basketball crowns and the first time Guilford accomplished the feat.
