Elon Men’s Soccer Announces Spring Schedule

ELON, N.C. – The Elon University men’s soccer team released its 2017 spring exhibition schedule on Tuesday, March 14, as the Phoenix begins its era under new head coach Marc Reeves.

The five-match spring slate will feature a home match versus Triad rival High Point, a trip to the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) Showcase at Bryan Park in Greensboro and a match versus ACC foe Virginia.

“This spring schedule will provide our players with great opportunities to perform against strong opponents,” said Reeves. “The games will allow the coaching staff a good assessment of what roles each player can impact in the Fall and what we need to continue to improve on as a group. We value these contests as a great chance to compete and players can earn more confidence and trust from teammates and coaches.”

Elon hosts Triad rival High Point on March 15 at 7:30 p.m., before traveling to compete in the ACC Showcase against Presbyterian on April 1 at 5 p.m. After that match, the Phoenix heads to Virginia on April 8, to square off versus the Cavaliers at 2 p.m.

After a contest at 2016 NCAA Division II national champion Wingate on April 15, the Phoenix concludes its spring schedule with a visit to VCU on April 22.

Reeves arrives from Radford where he served as the head coach of the Highlanders for the last seven seasons. He takes the reins of a Phoenix program that reached the postseason of the Colonial Athletic Association for the third straight season in 2016 and returns 100 percent of its goal scorers including All-CAA picks Elijah Agu, Nick Adamczyk, Jaiden Fortune and Jonathan Coleby.
