Graham Sporting Goods High School Baseball and Softball Tonight Finals:A cold one at SEG, but Randleman Tigers find the weather to their liking with the “W”

Baseball Finals:
Randleman 7, Southeast Guilford 5
WP:Zach Kemp/SV:Bailey Welch/LP:Chris Chris Scheibly
SEG(6-3)/RAND(6-4)
Randleman led 7-1 after 3 1/2 innings and the Tigers were threatening to blow the game open and close it out in five innings, but SEG fought back and cut the led to 7-5 late but could never move in front of the RHS Tigers…
Line Score goes….Randleman-7-10-2…SEG-5-6-4 and the four errors did not help the Falcons’ cause….
Randleman left five men on base combined in the 3rd and 4th innings and for the night, Randleman walked Devin Bartley his first time up and then walked him again later on, but in Bartley’s second at-bat, the Tigers chose to pitch to him and he made them pay with a solo HR and they say the solo HR’s won’t beat you, but they will sure keep you/the opposing team in the game…The Tigers’ Bailey Welch was able to get Bartley when he struck him out in DB’s last at-bat, but this is going to be decision time for opposing coaches all season long, “do you pitch to Bartley, or do you pitch around him and put him on”????…If first base is open and the situation presents itself and gives you a chance to put him on, I say, “put him on”, and don’t let him burn you, because Bartley can burn you….Also a Triple tonight coming late off of the bat of Ryan Douglas and Douglas made a great defensive grab, by pulling one back, with his back against the wall/fence, in left field and just a great catch by the tall one, Ryan Douglas…Not the best of nights for SEG starter Chris Chris Scheibly, who lasted just three innings, giving up 5 runs on 7 hits, with 6 K’s and 0 BB’s….SEG seemed to settle down and gain focus when Thorn Alley can on in relief of Scheibly and as whole, the Falcons found their focus and they found their bats and that led to their offensive surge in the middle innings….Alley working to the tune of 4 innings, allowing 2 runs on 3 hits with 2 K’s and 2 BB’s and he hit one batter….
Randleman starter Zach Kemp worked 4 1/3 innings, giving up 5 runs on 4 hits, with 5 K’s and 4 BB’s and he allowed the HR, the solo shot to Bartley…Bailey Welch earned the save for Randleman, going 2 2/3’s innings, with no runs against him after giving up two hits, to go along with 1 BB and 1 K…Again on the rundown, Z. Kemp the win, Welch the save and Chris Scheibly absorbs the loss…
Randleman offense/hitting:
Bailey Welch 2-4/Triple/IBB/2 runs…Noah Strickland 1-3/RBI/run/SAC bunt and SAC fly….Gunner Gannt 3-4/Double/run/2 RBI…Cody Ransome 2-4/Double/run/RBI…Ramsey Petty 0-3/BB…Chase Newby 2-4/2 Doubles/2 RBI/run…Matt Kemp 1-4/Double/RBI…Zach Kemp 0-3/HBP…Mason Matthews 0-3/BB/run…
Southeast Guilford offense/hitting:
Justin Guy 1-4/Double/run…Devin Bartley 1-2/HR/2 BB’s/2 runs…Noah Marley 1-4/RBI/run…Ryan Douglas 1-3/Triple/BB/run…Jarrett Alexander 0-2/RBI…Thorn Alley 1-3/RBI…Jax Hackett 1-3…
And that’s pretty much all we have on that Cold Night from down at the Kevin Callahan Baseball Field, on the Southeast Guilford High School campus….
