College Women’s Lacrosse Final – Randolph-Macon 17, Guilford 6

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Alicia Hsieh scored six goals and an assist in Randolph-Macon College’s 17-6 Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) women’s lacrosse win at Guilford College Saturday. Susie Snee added three scores and a game-best draw controls as the Yellow Jackets (6-4, 3-0 ODAC) remained perfect in league play.

Randolph-Macon raced to an 8-1 lead thanks to pinpoint shooting and multiple possessions off the draw. Hsieh, the ODAC’s scoring leader, scored three times and Snee twice during the opening run. The Yellow Jackets won the game’s first eight draws, five by Snee. Randolph-Macon converted on seven-of-nine free-positions shots in the opening half, which staked the Yellow Jackets to a 13-4 edge at intermission.

The second half started much like the first as Hsieh tallied twice to start a 4-0 Randolph-Macon run, which opened a 17-4 margin. Guilford’s Holly Kozak and Amanda Dionne closed the scoring in the final three minutes.

Saunders Riley added four points on two goals and two assists for the Yellow Jackets. Lexi Jones also tallied twice in the second half. Teammate Alex Lightfoot added a goal and three assists. Randolph-Macon held a 30-18 edge in shots and picked up 17 of the game’s 26 draw controls. Allie Walker played the first half in goal and made four saves. Jamie Langbein took over for the rest of the game and also stopped four shots.

Dionne connected on three goals to pace Guilford’s offense. Teammate Summer Fowler contributed two assists, a game-high six ground balls, four draws and two caused turnovers. Cat Thresher had five ground balls for the Quakers. Goaltender Sammi Milbourn totaled eight saves, a ground ball and one caused turnover.
