Elon Men’s Golf Completes Round One at the Clemson Invitational

SUNSET, S.C. – The Elon University men’s golf team is currently tied for seventh overall after completing the first round at the Clemson Invitational on Friday, April 7, at Cliffs at Keowee Falls.

ROUND ONE RESULTS

Elon shot 309 after the first round and are in a tie with fellow CAA foe UNCW. The Phoenix is just three strokes away from the top-five in the team standings. The host and No. 18-ranked Clemson is in the lead by two strokes after carding a six over-par 294 in the first round.

The Highlights
Philip Loeb paced the Phoenix and is currently in the top-10 after posting a one over-par 73 in the opening round. He is currently tied for sixth individually after the first 18 holes of play. Loeb made a total of four birdies on the first day.

William Harwood turned in his scorecard after carding a five-over 77 and is just four strokes out of the top-10. He is currently tied for 27th in the individual standings.

Charlie May is currently tied for 39th and Jared Mactas finished round one just one stroke behind and is in a tie for 44th. Jake Leavitt completed the first day of play and is tied for 65th individually.

Up Next
The Phoenix will begin round two of the Clemson Invitational tomorrow morning. Leavitt will start things off at 8:30 a.m. and Loeb will be the last to tee off 9:10 a.m.
