Hamm Leads Elon Women’s Golf on Day One of CAA Championship

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – With two players among the top 10 in the tournament, the Elon University women’s golf team finds itself in a tie for fourth place at the conclusion of the first round of the 2017 CAA Women’s Golf Championship at Ford’s Colony Country Club.

ROUND ONE

The Highlights
In a tie for seventh individually after one round is Aurelia Hamm who paced the Phoenix with a two-over 74 on Friday. Hamm carded a par on each of her first four holes and made the turn at one-over thanks to a birdie on hole number seven. She picked up her second birdie on number 10 to begin the back nine before posting another four straight pars.

One stroke back in a tie for ninth is Heather Munro. Munro began her day with a birdie and would tally 13 pars, including eight on the back nine, on her way to a 75.

Kelsey Badmaev is also in the top 20, as she sits 18th after Friday’s opening round. Badmaev shot a 77 with three birdies and 10 pars over her 18 holes.

With a mark of 80, Hilda Kristjansdottir is tied for 24th. She posted one birdie and 11 pars.

Rounding out Elon’s squad is Anali Otazo Rodas who shot an 84 and is tied for 37th. She notched seven pars and one birdie.
