David Hines(Southeast Guilford HS/Eastern Guilford HS) has been named head the football coach at East Davidson High School, the school announced Tuesday.
Hines comes to East Davidson from Southeast Guilford HS, where he was defensive coordinator the last four seasons. He is replacing Vance Hanner, who resigned after four seasons to become the head coach at West Montgomery.
Southeast Guilford was 35-15 during the four years Hines ran the Falcons’ defense and that made him attractive to once again serve as a head coach.
Hines was previously head coach for three years at Southside High School, in Chocowinity, and one season at Eastern Guilford High School. He was also the offensive coordinator at Cherokee and an assistant at Douglas Byrd in Fayetteville and at Northern Vance.
