Josh Tobias, a former Southeast Guilford Falcon and Florida Gator, and now with the Double A Portland, Maine Sea Dogs, a farm team for the Boston Red Sox…Last season Josh was with the Low Class A Lakewood BlueClaws(South Atlantic League) and with the High Class A/Advanced A Clearwater Threshers, of the Florida State League…

Tobias was with the Philadelphia Phillies from 2015-2016 and was traded from the Phillies to the Red Sox, in the off season, in exchange for pitcher Clay Bucholz….

Josh Tobias was batting .345 at Salem with 7 Doubles, 2 HR’s, 11 RBI and 16 runs scored….(21 Games)

Tobias was called up to Portland after Salem’s Saturday game vs. the Potomac Nationals and Josh has not yet played for Portland, he has been there all of two days/games, on Sunday and now today/Monday…He may be part of a roster move, but he has made his way to Double A and that is many times just one slot/spot away from the Major Leagues and in this case, the Boston Red Sox….
