CHAPEL HILL – The North Carolina High School Athletic Association finalized the brackets for the 2017 NCHSAA Men’s Dual-Team Tennis Championships. The State Championships are scheduled to be held in Burlington at the Burlington Tennis Center on Saturday, May 20th.
The Championship format features four classifications, each with 32 teams in the field with the exception of the 1A Championship which will field 24 teams. All lineup sheets must be submitted to the NCHSAA following their approval at the conference meeting.
In singles play, players must have played 25% of the total team matches at a position in order to be seeded (eligible) at that position unless there is an approved issue such as an injury or illness. For doubles, the positions of the paired players at number-one doubles must add up to an equal or lower number than the positions of the paired players at number-two doubles and so on. For any player not in the top six, the player will be considered #7 for the purposes of placement in doubles.
