High Point WLAX to Face Towson in NCAA First Round

HIGH POINT, N.C. — The High Point University women’s lacrosse team will face Towson in College Park, Md., Friday, May 12, in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. The time of the game is yet to be determined.

The winner of the first-round game will advance to face to the No. 1 overall seed Maryland on Sunday, May 14 in College Park, Md.

Ticket information will be available on Monday, May 8.

High Point (15-3) defeated Campbell, 19-5, in the Big South Championship Sunday at Vert Stadium to earn the conference’s automatic berth. The Panthers have won a school-record 15 games in a row, which is tied for the second-longest active streak in the nation.

Towson (12-6) qualified for the tournament as an at-large bid. The Tigers finished 4-2 in the Colonial Athletic Association and advanced to the semifinals of the CAA Tournament.

It will be the first all-time meeting between High Point and Towson in women’s lacrosse.
