Wendell Moore from Cox Mill High School has been named to the USA Basketball U16 Team

Wendell Moore, from Cox Mill High School, led his team to an 70-66 victory over the Eastern Guilford Wildcats in this past season’s 2017 NCHSAA 3-A Basketball Championship Game in Chapel Hill, North Carolina and after a season where Moore, a tall two-guard at 6-5, scored 25 points a-game and had right at 10 rebounds a game, with nearly four assists and 3 steals, plus two blocks a-game, well after all of that, Wendell Moore has been named to the USA Basketball U16 team…..Moore can play the two-spot or the three, and there has been talk this week that he might look at playing for the Wesleyan Christian Academy Trojans the next high school season, with the addition of the Langley twins/brothers, Kobe and Keyshaun, to the WES roster….

Wendell Moore(Cox Mill High School), 15, was named to the 12-man USA Basketball U16 team Tuesday.

The team, currently training in Colorado Springs, will play in the 2017 FIBA Americas U16 championship June 14-18 in Formosa, Argentina. Moore and the Americans will play Puerto Rico in their first game June 14, play the Dominican Republic June 15 and conclude preliminary play games against Mexico June 16.

Semifinal games will be held June 17 and finals on June 18.

Moore was chosen from a group of 32 elite athletes from around the country.
