Kernersville Bulldogs Baseball Update:All-Star game called off due to Rain/N.C. A&T players lead Sunday charge by ‘Dogs/K’ville now (34-7)

The Carolina Virginia Collegiate League All Star game was rained out Saturday night at Lenoir Rhyne University. The players completed their pro work outs, but the school deemed the field unplayable then the pitchers got to throw a bullpen for the scouts. “It wasn’t a total loss but our players looked so good during the workout. I am so sure they would have put on a great show if we could have played but that’s baseball and the weather,” stated East Coach Dustin Ijames.

On Sunday night the Bulldogs started their prep for the last three weeks of games this summer with a 4-1 and 7-0 wins over the Charlotte Crushers. A&T Freshman Jason Jenkins hurled four strong innings to receive the win and Braxton Shetley recorded the save. Michael Garvey 2-3 with two runs scored, Carter Morgan 2-3,and Dylan Wilkinson1-3 paced the offense.

In game two another NCA&T signee Tim Luth hurled two solid innings of relief of starter and winning pitcher Mathew Hailey who dominated the Crusher Bats. Kernersville used an 11 hit attack as Jackson Meadows, Jordan Huntley, and Noah Campbell had two hit games…

Kernersville travels to the Deep River Muddogs Tues at 6 PM the return home Thursday night to face the Mooresville Spinners at 7PM. Kernersville’s nationally ranked club moves their record to 34-7 on the summer!
