Here is a personal message from Downtown Roundball Challenge street ball leader Kenny Slade:

*****LACE UP YOUR KICKS!*****

Welcome to the DOWNTOWN ROUNDBALL (GREENSBORO)….
The home of ORGANIZED STREETBALL!! Join us the first weekend in August on the streets of downtown Greensboro! We will close down Elm, Lindsey, and Davie Street and create a pop up tournament arena! The Downtown Roundball is an outdoor basketball tournament geared toward a streetballer format.

We want to create a safe environment by offering a structured outside Basketball event to the community. We believe that every community needs a safe, secure, healthy place to play the game of basketball and where better then the downtown streets!

Games are played outdoors, score goes to 16 points or 20 min, shots are counted as ones and there is a two pointer line as well.

This tournament is in conjunction with the city of Greensboro and NOBA.(NATIONAL OUTDOOR BASKETBALL ASSOCIATION). This tournament will benefit the community and insure all the students in Guilford County are equipped with school supplies for the upcoming school year. THIS WILL BE A CITY WIDE EFFORT!

The tournament will last two days Saturday August 5th and Sunday August 6th .ALL TRAVEL AND AAU TEAMS ARE WELCOMED FOR THE FIRST TIME EVER OUTSIDE! PLEASE BE A PART OF THIS HISTORICAL EVENT!

THE KIDS, THE COMMUNITY AND THE CITY OF GREENSBORO AND NOBA THANKS YOU.
