Remember back in 2011 when Matthews Butler High School, coached by Brian Hales, and led at quarterback by Riley Ferguson, came over to Page High School in Round Three of the playoffs and Butler was favored to beat Page and James Summers, and the Butler Bulldogs were very tough on Page in the first half, but the Pirates took over the game in second half and knocked off Butler and Riley Ferguson, on the way to NCHSAA 4-AA Title for Page HS…
Well Ferguson did well and he ended up at Tennessee, but it didn’t work out for him there, so he gave up football, but he got hungry for the sport and he returned by way of Coffeyville Junior College, in Kansas, and last year Ferguson landed at Memphis and took over at QB for the Tigers…
Today on ABC TV Memphis upset #25 UCLA and Riley Ferguson had one heck of a day throwing for 398 yards and 6 touchdowns and Memphis wins it, 48-45 over the UCLA Bruins….
