ELON, N.C. – Now riding a seven-game winning streak, the Elon University football team gained three spots in the STATS FCS Poll, climbing to seventh. The Phoenix also picked up one place in the FCS Coaches Poll, moving to 10th.
Elon (7-1) earned a total of 2,840 points in the STATS rankings and sits between South Dakota (7-1) and Wofford (7-1).
Including Elon, the STATS poll ranks five CAA Football teams this week. James Madison (8-0) continues to hold the top spot. Other league programs in the rankings are #14 Stony Brook (6-2), #20 Villanova (4-4) and #21 New Hampshire (5-3).
In the coaches poll, the Phoenix was awarded a total of 413 points. Just ahead of Elon is Wofford, while the Phoenix sits just ahead of Eastern Washington (5-3).
The coaches poll sees five conference programs ranked. JMU continues to sit first. New Hampshire checks in at #19, Villanova is #20 and Stony Brook entered the poll at #21.
Elon will be back in action on Saturday, Nov. 4, with a 2 p.m. game against Towson at Rhodes Stadium.
