ELON, N.C. – Elon University women’s basketball held strong at No. 6 in this week’s CollegeInsider.com Women’s Mid-Major poll released late Tuesday, Nov. 28.
The Phoenix jumped up to the No. 6 spot in last week’s release of the poll. It stood at No. 8 in the first release of the regular season and was No. 10 in the preseason edition of the poll.
In the Top 5, there was movement this week with South Dakota State and Belmont jumping up to Nos. 2 and 3, respectively, while Florida Gulf Coast and Northern Colorado fell two spots apiece from Nos. 2 and 3, respectively, to Nos. 4 and 5. Green Bay kept the No. 1 spot for the second week in a row with 29 first-place votes. The Phoenix is slated to open its five-game December slate on Saturday, Dec. 2, when it travels 47 miles west to Winston-Salem, N.C., to take on the Wake Forest Demon Deacons.
