College Women’s Swimming Results – Guilford 11th After First Session of RMC Invite

RICHMOND, Va. – Guilford College women’s swimming team sits in 11th place after Friday’s first session at the Randolph-Macon Yellow Jacket Invitational. The Quakers have 24 points in the 11-team field, which consists of teams from NCAA Divisions I, II and III at the Collegiate School Aquatics Center.

Catawba College holds an 11-point advantage over Catholic University of America, 363-352. Howard University (344), Washington (Md.) College (321), and meet host Randolph-Macon College (268) round out the top five teams.

Guilford’s 200-yard freestyle relay team of Isabel Gutierrez, Courtney Packer, Audrey Helfenbein, and Carolyn O’Halloran placed 19th of 20 in a time of two minutes, 5.22 seconds.

O’Halloran turned in the 29th-fastest time in the 59-swimmer 50-yard freestyle race in 26.68 seconds. Packer was 59th in the same race in 39.88.

Guilford’s 400-yard medley relay turned in a time of 5:22.90, good for 19th place among 20 teams. The team was comprised of Helfenbein, Gutierrez, O’Halloran, and Packer.

Coach Ashley Cox’s Quakers continue the competition Saturday (12/2) with the final sessions at 8:45 a.m. and 4:45 p.m.
