Caldwell Academy Ring of Honor:Clay Young, Coleman Flynn and Joshua Jones to be honored on January 9

Caldwell Academy will be honoring the following three student/athletes on Wednesday January 9 during halftime of the boy’s varsity basketball game against Calvary Day at approx. 7:30pm……..

Joshua Jones, ( class of 2011 ), helped lead C/A soccer team to 38 total wins over his final two seasons as
a goalie. During his junior season, Josh earned all-conference honors while the team claimed
the TAC Tournament Championship and finished in the State NCISAA Final 4.

During his senior season, Josh spearheaded a defense which gave up just 15 total goals in
26 games. The Eagles won the TAC Regular Season and Tournament Championship and
finished as the NCISAA State Runner up. Josh earned numerous accolades including::
NCISAA All-State, TAC Player of the Year, NC Soccer Coaches Association All-Region and
NCSCA All State.

Coleman Flynn ( class of 2012 ) was a 6 time conference champion, winning the 100 Fly ( 2010,, 2011 & 2012 ),
200 IM ( 2010,, 2011 ), and100 Back ( 2012 ). He won the state championship in the 100 Fly
his sophomore through senior season and was a 2- time state champion in the 200 IM.
Coleman still holds seven ( 7 ) individual school records and was also part of two relay
teams which are still tops all-time.

Clay Young ( class of 2014 ) was a five year starter for the Caldwell baseball program. During that time
the Eagles made 5 consecutive state playoff appearances, an NCISAA Final 4,, and
NCISAA State Runner up, while also claiming the 2012 TAC regular season and tournament
championship. He was the winning pitcher against First Assembly in the w2012 Final 4 which
sent Caldwell to the State Championship game.

Individually, Clay was a 3 time TAC All Conference performer and 2 time NCISAA All-State
selection. He ranks in the top-5 all time at Caldwell in hits, doubles, and runs. His 15 pitching
wins ranks # 1 all-time and he is the only Caldwell pitcher to reach 200 career strikeouts.

After Caldwell, he has continued his baseball career at Catawba where he has helped the
Indians to several successful seasons.
