The First Tee of the Triad Girls-Only Winter Class Registration Begins Tomorrow

THE FIRST TEE OF THE TRIAD GIRLS-ONLY WINTER CLASS REGISTRATION OPENS TOMORROW

GREENSBORO, N.C. – – “Baby it’s Cold Outside” may be the title of the 2014 Michael Buble’ song, but it is cold outside. And even though most people are thinking about staying warm, not playing golf, The First Tee of the Triad forges ahead with its winter programming. Registration begins tomorrow for its girls-only winter classes, the local chapter of the international organization announced today.

The girls-only class is offered at Gillespie Park Golf Course in Greensboro and Winston Lake Golf Course in Winston-Salem, and the first 20 girls ages 7-17 that register for each location will be accepted into the classes. Classes are scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 10, 17, 24 and March 3 from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m. The class fee is only $20.

The learning centers at both Gillespie and Winston Lake, which opened last winter, have indoor teaching facilities so these classes can go on as scheduled regardless of the weather. The Learning Centers offer classes focusing on golf skills, the rules of golf and health habits. These classes offer fun activities, indoor or outdoor, which will help the girls prepare to hit the links when conditions allow.

All participants, new or returning, are required to register for classes in order to guarantee their spaces. Information on registration and scholarships for all classes is available at www.thefirstteeetriad.org. Simply click on “registration” to get started; scholarships can be requested during the online registration process.
